Study Circles
Study Circles are informal study groups designed to increase our capacity to provide spiritual leadership to the entire community (religious and secular).
The Ruhi sequence of classes progress from basic spiritual concepts such as the power of prayer to setting up virtues classes for children and initiating other social and economic development programs.
Study Circles are held in homes or in public locations such as the Beaverton Baha'i Center. They are open to all interested persons. Currently we are offering these study circles:
- Ruhi 1 Life of the Spirit
- Ruhi 2
- Ruhi 3 Teaching children's classes
- Ruhi 4 Lives of Baha'u'llah and the Bab
- Ruhi 5 Junior Youth Animation
- Ruhi 6
- Ruhi 7
- Ruhi 8 The Covenant of God
Devotional Meetings
Devotional meetings may include both prepared readings and prayers or readings offered by anyone attending. Music, potluck refreshments, and discussions may also be included.
Junior Youth Groups
These are spiritual and social groups for youth aged 11-14. They may be offered in homes or in public places such as the Beaverton Baha'i Center on Murray Road. Generally they are coordinated by someone who has completed the Ruhi 5 study circle (Junior Youth Animation). These youth are on the edge of adolescence. They are highly influenced by peer pressure and by their ideals. A positive spiritual experience as they enter their teen years can incline them to a life of service rather than sucumbing to the lure of material and sensual gratification that much of our society presents as our ideal life goal.
Neighborhood Children's Classes
Classes for children aged up to 11 years may be offered in homes or in public locations such as the Beaverton Baha'i Center. They are generally lead or assisted by someone who has completed the Ruhi 3 study program. If you are interested in starting a class you may contact Kathryn (above) for help and advice in getting started.
